THERMAL, Calif. – February 20, 2020 – Jeff Campf and Tender Star (Nintender x Rastell), owned by OZ Investments and Mark & Ellen Brown, sped into the lead in the $2,500 Ruby Tour Welcome CSI3*, sponsored by Antares, finishing with a time of 28.61 seconds. Kaitlin Campbell aboard Doraindo (Labor’s VDL Indorado x Zeus), owned by VDL Stud finished second with a time of 29.45 seconds. Nicole Haunert and Lady G (Levistus x Levisto), owned by Elle Campbell finished third with a time of 30.73 seconds.

Twenty-nine pairs challenged the course designed by Alan Wade, “I thought the courses were fantastic, they’ve done such a great job here and, of course, Alan Wade is unparalleled,” Campf commented after his win. “The courses are inviting, but the jumps are interesting and I think the horses jumped fantastic; they jump great in this footing,” Campf continued.

Campf has been riding the 2010 Swedish Warmblood gelding for the past year. “He [Tender Star] is always careful and always tries to be competitive, so it was a great start today,” Campf shared of his mount. “With this power and speed class today, there weren’t a lot of places to save any time but, fortunately, because I just trusted that he wasn’t going to hit anything, I don’t have to slow down,”Campf concluded.
