Dear Desert Circuit competitors,
Over the last three days we have accumulated 24 samples which were sent to the CDFA lab this morning for testing today.
Six of these samples were for horses that had previously tested positive for EHV-1. Two of these horses have now recorded their first negative tests and will start their seven-day sequence for a second negative test.
Six of these samples were for horses that had previously tested negative for EHV-1. Two of these horses have now tested positive and have been moved to isolation.
Twelve of these samples were for horses that exhibited an elevated temperature over the last three days and were tested for the first time. None of these 12 horses tested positive. They will be retested in several days to ensure they remain negative.
Two groups were released from quarantine as of this evening. These groups have been in quarantine for 14 days and none of their horses had exhibited any clinical symptoms during this time period.
Only one new horse had an elevated temperature reported today. This horse was swabbed and will be the only test result available tomorrow.
We will have an update meeting at 11 am tomorrow in VIP.
