Natalie Rae Medlock & Luciano Earn Top Honors in $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby – Jr/Am, sponsored by Kardel Global Equine

THERMAL, Calif. – February 21, 2020 – It was a successful day for Natalie Rae Medlock (Orange, CA) and Luciano, who topped the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby – Jr/Am, sponsored by Kardel Global Equine, with scores of 93 and 96. Clara McDonniel (Clinton, WA) and Conspire, owned by McDonniel, were second in the class with scores of 91.5 and 90. Camille Leblond (Seattle, WA) and her own Category earned third place honors with scores of 90 and 90.
Thirty-seven pairs challenged the first course and twelve pairs returned with a cut-off score of 80. “It was a great course and he [Luciano] was really happy out there. I just wanted to go in, have fun, and keep it consistent,” noted Medlock who has owned the eleven-year-old gelding for four years now. Medlock competes in the A-O Hunters 3’3” and the Performance Hunter 3’3”, she plans to return to Hunter 1 Arena for the Week VII USHJA National Hunter Derby.
