Lisa Veltri has a strong background in the fashion industry, so when she and her daughter, Alessandra, noticed a gap in the equestrian fashion and accessory market, Veltri Sport was born!
Today, the brand is a favorite of equestrians across the country for fashionable and functional backpacks and accessories, designed for carrying their essentials from the barn to the show ring.

Q: How did the idea for Veltri Sport come about?
Lisa: A few years ago, my daughter Alessandra was searching for a way to carry her riding gear that was both stylish and practical. When we couldn’t find what we were looking for, we decided to create Veltri Sport—a women-owned and run small business. Our mission was to design accessories that not only offered the organization and functionality people need but also embodied a sleek, modern aesthetic. With our easy-to-clean, water-resistant fabrics, we quickly realized that our backpacks, bags and accessories appeal to anyone seeking high-quality, versatile gear that supports both their performance and values.
Q: What sets Veltri Sport apart from other products in the market?
Lisa: VELTRI products combine luxury with intentional design. We craft them using the highest quality recycled vegan materials because environmental sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our approach is guided by our family motto: reuse, repurpose and recycle to minimize waste. With my background as a former fashion industry executive – having worked with top accessory brands like COACH, Prada and DKNY – I bring years of experience to the table. While my daughter Alessandra, who began riding when she was 4, offers valuable insight into what customers are looking for. Our collections seamlessly blend fashion, function and sustainability, catering to both the equestrian community and those with active lifestyles.
Q: What’s been the best part of operating Veltri Sport?
Lisa: The best part of operating Veltri Sport has been the blessing of creating this business with my daughter and having the opportunity to spend time together. She’s such a cool and fun person to hang out with, with such a clear point of view, which makes every moment memorable. I’ve also really enjoyed teaching her how to develop the business and sharing my expertise with her, especially about the product life cycle. Watching her grasp these concepts and grow in the process has been incredibly fulfilling. It’s been such a rewarding experience on both personal and professional levels.
Q: Is there anything on the horizon for Veltri Sport that you’re excited about?
Lisa: We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Ellis Garment Duffle Bag! It’s something we’re really excited about, especially since we do a lot of weekend traveling. A bag that’s carry-on compliant is a must, and the versatility of this one is perfect. It’s ideal not only for equestrian weekend shows but also for anyone heading out on a business or leisure getaway. The functionality of this bag is incredible—it easily converts from a convenient duffle into a full garment bag, perfect for storing dress clothes and more. Plus, it features two exterior side compartments designed to hold tall boots and shoes, keeping them separate from the rest of your belongings.
On the horizon we have several new styles in development, but as a small, family-owned business, we’re taking our time with product launches to ensure each one gets the attention it deserves.
Q: What does life like look for you outside of running Veltri Sport?
Lisa: Outside of running Veltri Sport, life is all about staying active and enjoying quality time as a family. As a family of five, we go to the gym regularly, love being outdoors and stay involved in various activities together. Whether it’s traveling, skiing, snowboarding, boating or participating in other motorsports, we always find ways to bond. We also enjoy cooking healthy meals together, which plays a big role in maintaining our overall well-being. And of course, we love spending time with our pets, who are a big part of our family.
