The National Sunshine Series 1 & 2 are two of the most exciting and important weeks of the year at the Desert International Horse Park – and they just got even more exciting!
NEW for 2025, the USHJA Amateur Hunter Championships will make their West Coast debut during National Sunshine Series 1, October 29 – November 2, and the North American League West Coast Finals, the USHJA Gladstone Cup Equitation Classic for Amateurs and the USHJA 3’3” Adult Jumping Seat Medal Final will join the schedule lineup as the prestigious classes all head to their new home at DIHP.
The USHJA Amateur Hunter Championships mark a new opportunity for amateur riders competing in the 2’6” Low Adult Amateur Hunters, the 3’ Adult Amateur Hunters, the 3’3” Amateur Owner Hunters, and the 3’6” Amateur Owner Hunters.
Similarly, the NAL West Coast Finals at DIHP will present an exciting new venue for qualified riders in the 1.10/1.15m Junior and Amateur Jumpers, the 1.20/1.25m Junior and Amateur Jumpers, the 1.30/1.35m Junior and Amateur Jumpers, the Adult Hunters and the Children’s Hunters.

For the all-new USHJA Amateur Hunter Championships, riders can qualify through both USEF-licensed Channel I or Channel II competitions by earning champion or reserve champion at one competition in their respective division. Additionally, horses can qualify if they are ranked in the top 10 of their USHJA Zone Horse of the Year Standings in Channel I or Channel II.
