Thermal, Calif. – Jamie Sailor planned to just go “medium” pace in the jump-off for the $10,000 Stal Hendrix DIHP 10 & Under Futurity 1.35m. However, her mount, Mad Money TW, quickly showed he was ready for more, ultimately resulting in the pair’s win in the Friday, January 23, class, held under the lights at Desert International Horse Park in Thermal, Calif.
“From [fence] one to two he had so much heart and desire. Then, I just turned so short back to the liverpool, and he was right there with me,” said Sailor. “I said, ‘Okay, he wants to win tonight! I don’t want to hold him back!’”

With Sailor then electing to keep her turns tight and tidy and to allow the 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion to go for it, they stopped the clock in a winning 37.626 seconds. Second place in 38.071 seconds went to Jessica Gleason and her own Mack Wildrick, and Emily Esau Williams and Air Jordan Delacense, owned by McKee Sport Horses LLC, finished in third with a time of 38.791 seconds.
Sailor first partnered with Mad Money TW, or “Cash,” three years ago, bringing the horse up through the 6-year-old and 7-year-old young jumper divisions. Now, Cash is more frequently ridden by his owner, Shannon Kelly of Hermosa Sport Horses.

“He hasn’t been staying with me in my stables, so it’s kind of fun to have him back in my string for a little bit!” said Sailor of the horse bred by Three Wishes Farm in California. “He’s a super fun horse. He has a lot of heart and a lot of game. He hasn’t jumped this height in a little bit…I’m super proud of him to be able to step out here under the lights; it’s been a minute, and for him to have so much success out here, I’m just so proud of him. He has all the heart and all the desire for this sport which is what makes my job really fun.”
