DIHP TO HOST SFHJA 2020 CHALLENGE MEDAL FINAL DURING NATIONAL SUNSHINE SERIES

THERMAL, Calif. – Sep. 29, 2020 – Desert International Horse Park (DIHP) is proud to host the San Fernando Hunter Jumper Association (SFHJA)’s 2020 Parker Equine Insurance Challenge Medal Final.  This medal will be held during the National Sunshine Series – Week 1, from Oct. 28 – Nov. 1, 2020 in Hunter Ring 1.

This prestigious medal final has been hosted for many years by West Palms Events at the Flintridge Riding Club.  We are proud to be able to assist SFHJA and to invite existing and new members to participate.

This year there will be no prior qualifying and the final is open to all who meet the below specifications:

Challenge Medal Specifications:

  • Open to Junior and Amateur riders
  • Course height set at 3’3 with Hunter type fences
  • Riders must have not won a 3’6 medal final
  • Two Rounds set over two days
  • Work off with a minimum of two riders after round 2
  • Rider and Trainers must be a member of SFHJA
  • New memberships must be received by Thursday October 29, 2020 at 2pm in the horse show office

SFHJA welcomes all 3’3 riders to challenge themselves to compete in this year’s finals, held in Hunter Ring 1. We would like to thank Joe and Donna Parker and Parker Equine Insurance for their continued sponsorship and support for over two decades of this medal challenge.

This year, exhibitors and their trainers will be eligible to win ribbons and saddle pads to 10th Place and coolers to 3rd.  Reserve Champion and their trainer will win a $600 travel voucher each. Champion and their trainer will win a $1,200 travel voucher each.
